Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan speak over the phone
On June 10, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev.
Right from the start of the conversation, the head of our state extended his earnest congratulations to Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev on the latter’s convincing victory in the presidential elections in Kazakhstan yesterday.
It was noted in particular that the outcomes of the vote once again demonstrated the Kazakhstan people’s complete trust and wide support for Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, their high appreciation of his contribution to the country’s steadfast development and elevation of its international standing, and that was a manifestation of firm confidence in the consistent continuation of the policy of reforms.
A new impetus to the advancement of bilateral cooperation, it was stressed during the telephone conversation, was afforded by the first state visit by the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in April this year, when the two sides confirmed shared commitment to bolster the relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev also discussed pressing issues in the Uzbek-Kazakhstani cooperation and in the regional and international agendas.
In addition, the two Presidents reviewed schedule of forthcoming bilateral meetings, including those in the framework of events within multilateral institutions.
The heads of state reiterated the priority nature of the consistent development and consolidation of the strategic partnership and multidimensional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
