Shavkat Mirziyoyev: A Completely New Atmosphere and Quality Should Be Established in Our School

The President of our country has met with a group of school teachers as part of an educational exhibition.

From the very beginning of his presidency, Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed out the personnel issue as one of the urgent problems of our country's development. In recent years, no matter what reforms or projects are initiated, the training of qualified specialists is always on the agenda.

«Education is at the core of all our efforts. No matter what region I visit, I always converse with young people and workers in large enterprises. When I ask, "What are you worried about?" they complain about insufficient knowledge. How have the developed countries reached the level of today's economy? By means of knowledge! That's why we primarily try to improve education. We have announced 2023 as the "The Year of Human Care and Quality Education”. A completely new atmosphere and quality should be created in our schools now», the President has said.

Our country is striving to build a welfare state. In recent years hundreds of new schools have been built, additional 500 thousand school places have been created, more than 7 thousand modern computer classrooms have been organized.

Along with the expansion of conditions, the measures are being taken to change educational content and methodology. At the first stage, textbooks for primary classes are being renewed.

The President has emphasized that these measures are the part of school general education strategy, and the quality and efficiency mostly depends on the teacher.

«I talk a lot about the need for raising the prestige and status of the teacher in the society», Shavkat Mirziyoyev has added. Because teachers are real architects and engineers of children's hearts. Therefore, financial and moral support of teachers is always in the focus of our attention. Their involvement in activities not related to education should be considered as a treason against the state, a betrayal of our future. Being disrespectful to a teacher is a disrespect for our nation and society.

The President reiterated the need to clearly define the status, rights and interests of teachers in the Constitution and laws.

«We must build such a society that teaching will be the most prestigious profession! In this regard, we, primarily, rely on thousands of teachers and mentors who have devoted their lives to the education of young generation! A society that honors teachers will never fail, it will surely achieve its goals. Never lose sight of the fact: Our people have entrusted their future to you. Our future primarily depends on you. Therefore, the President shall always support you», Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said.

The importance of increasing parental responsibility for children's upbringing and education was noted.

During the dialogue, teachers expressed their opinions on improving the quality of staff training in pedagogical universities, attracting native speakers of foreign languages to schools, and providing vocational guidance for young people.

Following his speech, the President congratulated the teachers on the upcoming 2023 and wished them success in their honorable and responsible work.
