The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the progress of joint projects

On the sidelines of the ongoing trilateral summit in the city of Khujand, a meeting took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.
At the beginning of the meeting, the leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the spring holiday of Navruz and the sacred Ramadan, wishing peace, prosperity, and well-being to their fraternal nations.
The outcomes of the trilateral negotiations held earlier were highly praised, with the key achievement being the signing of the Treaty on the Junction Point of the State Borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
The progress in implementing high-level agreements was noted with satisfaction. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has increased by 70 percent. Industrial cooperation is successfully developing across various economic sectors, supported by the joint Investment Fund.
Discussions covered the acceleration of major regional projects in energy and transportation, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
The heads of state advocated for maintaining active interregional contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.
The presidents also exchanged views on the schedule and agenda of upcoming high-level events.
