The leaders of Uzbekistan and Iran discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda

During a telephone conversation on April 1, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, warmly congratulated each other and the friendly peoples of both countries on the spring holiday of Navruz and the holy Ramadan holiday – Eid al-Fitr, sincerely wishing peace, prosperity, and well-being.
The two leaders thoroughly discussed the current issues related to the further development of multifaceted Uzbek-Iranian relations based on the adopted "roadmap."
The ongoing active contacts and visits at various levels were noted with satisfaction.
Indicators of mutual trade and cargo transportation are growing, the number of joint ventures is increasing, regular direct flights between the capitals are being implemented, and business as well as cultural-humanitarian exchanges are expanding.
Special attention was given to supporting and accelerating the implementation of cooperation projects in the chemical and petrochemical industries, textile and food industries, agriculture, construction materials sector, and other areas.
The importance of the productive conduct of the planned sessions of the Intergovernmental Commission, business forum, and industrial exhibition in Tehran was emphasized.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Iran also exchanged views on the international and regional agenda.
