The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of expanding strategic partnership

On April 3, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhammedov, who arrived in Samarkand to participate in the first "Central Asia – EU" summit.
The President of Turkmenistan conveyed sincere greetings from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.
The discussion focused on the further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership.
The steady growth in trade turnover, which exceeded 1.1 billion dollars by the end of the previous year, was noted with deep satisfaction.
Cooperation projects in industry, energy, transport, agriculture, and water management are being successfully implemented. A cross-border trade zone "Shavat – Dashoguz" is being jointly created. Events are being held within the framework of active interregional contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.
Special attention was given to the preparation for upcoming bilateral meetings and multilateral high-level events, as well as the promotion of joint projects for multifaceted partnership.
