The leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan considered topical issues of bilateral cooperation

Within the framework of the program of the first summit in the "Central Asia – European Union" format, on April 3, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
At the beginning of the conversation, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan noted with deep satisfaction the historic results of the trilateral summit held in the city of Khujand on March 31 this year.
It was emphasized that the full settlement of border issues opens a new chapter in the development of regional cooperation.
Topical issues of further deepening Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance were considered.
Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level.
The importance of developing specific measures to increase trade and accelerate cooperation projects during the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission this month was noted.
The leaders discussed issues on the regional agenda, as well as the preparation of bilateral and multilateral events.
