The Head of State praised the work of a woman farmer

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the “Sobirjon Yusuf” farming enterprise in the Khankin District.
The head of the enterprise, 73-year-old Oyimjon Otajanova, has devoted more than forty years of her life to growing seedlings. The farm cultivates fruit and ornamental trees on three hectares of land, with an additional two hectares dedicated to gardening. Moreover, seedlings of around 40 types of flowers are grown in a 12-are greenhouse. The greenhouse is equipped with modern water-saving technologies, and each section maintains specific microclimatic conditions suited to the type and characteristics of the plants.
This hardworking woman has involved her family members in the business. More than 50,000 seedlings are grown and sold annually here, generating over one billion soums in yearly income.
Notably, seedlings grown on this farm are supplied not only to neighboring districts but also abroad—to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
The Guliston mahalla, where the orchard is located, is home to over 7,000 people. Oyimjon-ona has become a model of hard work for young people and women, actively supporting their employment. She has trained more than 200 students, and 300 unemployed individuals have learned the basics of seedling cultivation. She has also established cooperation with neighbors in the mahalla.
Demonstrating civic responsibility, the devoted farmer donated 2,000 pine seedlings this year to all schools and kindergartens in the district, contributing to the “Green Space” initiative and the country’s beautification efforts.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and a bank, a training center was opened on an adjacent plot of land, where practical knowledge based on the farm’s experience is used to teach people how to earn year-round income from household plots. This promotes entrepreneurship in mahallas and additional income for families.
In recognition of her merits, dedication, and as a role model for the younger generation, the President decided to award Oyimjon Otajanova the honorary title “Honored Agricultural Worker of Uzbekistan.”
