Meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council
On July 22, 2020, Moscow hosted a meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan, MFA reports.
The event was attended by Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member States, as well as heads and representatives of relevant diplomatic missions and CIS Executive Committee.
In accordance with the agenda, the parties considered and adopted decisions on 21 issues.
The program documents “On the main results of implementation of the Economic Development Strategy of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2020 and on the Draft Action Plan for the implementation of the first stage (2021-2025) Strategies for Economic Development of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2030”, “On the draft Interstate program of innovative cooperation of CIS Member States for the period up to 2030”, “On the Draft Agreement on Information Interaction of CIS Member States in digital development of society” were discussed and approved at the meeting.
The draft framework program for cooperation of the CIS Member States in peaceful nuclear uses for the period up to 2030 and the Action Plan for the implementation of its first stage (2021-2025), as well as a number of other issues were also considered at the meeting.
The documents approved by the Commission will be sent to the Economic Council and the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS for consideration.
